The IMS Magazine is an ambitious, new student publication from the Institute of Medical Science (IMS), University of Toronto, that showcases the latest research and talent from the IMS. My colleagues and I were recruited to create the design and branding for this new publication. Through tireless collaborative efforts and dedication, we came up with a professional identity with an institutional feel to it. Originally slated to be an online magazine only, the first issue has met with such success that there is now a print version available. This enriching volunteer experience provided an opportunity to feed off the creativity of others, and helped improve my communication skills, design sense, and ability to effectively pitch ideas to clients.
